Ingredients
  

For the Spicy Broth
  • 2 cups chicken broth or vegetable broth
  • 1 –2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp chili paste gochujang, sambal, or sriracha
  • 1 tsp garlic minced
  • 1 tsp ginger grated
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • ½ tsp sugar
  • Optional: 1 splash rice vinegar
For the Noodles
  • 1 pack ramen noodles instant or fresh
  • Toppings Choose Any
  • Soft-boiled egg
  • Cooked chicken tofu, or mushrooms
  • Spring onions
  • Corn
  • Bok choy or spinach
  • Chili flakes
  • Fried garlic
  • A drizzle of chili oil

Equipment

  • 1 One medium pot
  • 2 One small pan
  • 3 A ladle or big spoon
  • 4 Chopsticks or a fork
  • 5 A bowl that feels hug-like

Method
 

Make the Broth
  1. Heat sesame oil in a pot over medium heat.
  2. Add garlic and ginger. Sauté 20–30 seconds until fragrant.
Pour in broth.
  1. Stir in soy sauce, chili paste, sugar, and optional rice vinegar.
  2. Let the broth simmer gently for 5 minutes.
Cook the Noodles
  1. Add the ramen noodles directly into the broth.
  2. Cook 2–3 minutes, just until soft and bouncy.
Prepare Toppings
  1. Slice a soft-boiled egg.
  2. Warm chicken or tofu.
  3. Sauté mushrooms.
  4. Chop green onions or blanch greens.
  5. Assemble the Ramen Bowl
  6. Pour the noodles and broth into a bowl.
  7. Add your toppings.
  8. Sprinkle chili flakes and drizzle chili oil if you like extra heat.
  9. Taste and adjust seasoning. Enjoy warm.

Notes

  • Add a splash of milk or coconut milk for creamy ramen.
